Key Responsibilities
- Clean windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors, and cupboards throughout the school
- Clean and sanitise toilet facilities and sick bays thoroughly, restocking soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed
- Clean and maintain cleaning equipment including vacuums, mops, buckets, and chemical sprayers after each use
- Perform cobweb and mildew control using extendable equipment to safely reach high corners and ceilings
- Clean concrete, bitumen, asphalt, and paved surfaces such as walkways, undercover areas, and assembly spaces
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, ensuring waste is disposed of in correct recycling and general waste streams
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged fixtures to the school administration promptly
Qualifications
Previous experience in commercial or school cleaning is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. You must have a strong eye for detail and the ability to work independently without constant supervision. Physical fitness is required for tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting light equipment up to 10 kilograms, and working with extendable poles. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices is desirable. You must have reliable transport to reach Everleigh State School in Brisbane.
