Key Responsibilities
- Clean all centre areas including floors by vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping to maintain a high standard of hygiene
- Clean and sanitise bathrooms, toilets, sinks, and change tables thoroughly, restocking soap and paper supplies
- Clean kitchen areas including countertops, sinks, and appliances, ensuring food preparation surfaces are safe
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and sanitiser as needed
- Follow the centre’s daily cleaning checklists, procedures, and safety guidelines without exception
- Dispose of rubbish and waste materials properly, including nappy bins and general waste, using correct colour coded bins
- Support the team in maintaining a safe, clean environment that meets all regulatory standards for early childhood settings
Qualifications
Prior cleaning experience in a childcare, school, or healthcare setting is strongly preferred. A qualification in Early Childhood Education is not mandatory but is highly regarded. You must hold a current Working With Children Check or be willing to obtain one before starting. Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness are essential. You must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude are required. You must be physically fit for cleaning tasks including bending, reaching, and lifting light equipment. Availability for full time shifts Monday to Friday is required.
