Key Responsibilities
- Clean mall floors, common areas, and outdoor spaces by sweeping, mopping, and using a push behind floor scrubber to remove dirt and scuff marks
- Perform detailed cleaning of toilets and amenities including scrubbing toilets, urinals, basins, mirrors, and floors, restocking soap and paper products
- Operate cleaning equipment confidently including push behind floor scrubber, blower for removing leaves and debris, and petrol pressure washer for outdoor hard surfaces
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained at all times, paying attention to high traffic zones and touchpoints
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to shoppers and tenants, answering basic questions or directing them to centre management when needed
- Empty waste and recycling bins in common areas and outdoor spaces, replacing liners and ensuring rubbish is transferred to designated collection points
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or vandalism observed during your shift to the centre management immediately
Qualifications
Previous commercial or shopping centre cleaning experience is essential. You must have strong attention to detail and a reliable, honest, and hard working attitude. The ability to work independently without constant supervision is critical. Confidence using cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, blowers, and pressure washers is required. Physical fitness is necessary for standing, walking, bending, and lifting cleaning supplies up to ten kilograms. Good communication skills in English are needed for interacting with shoppers and reporting issues. Australian working rights are mandatory. A National Police Clearance may be requested. No formal degree is required. You must be available to work the part time shift from 6 AM to 9 AM, with shifts available for three to fifteen hours per week.
Benefits and Perks
This part time position pays an hourly rate between AUD 29.73 and AUD 42.65, depending on experience and shift timing. The higher end of the range may apply for weekend shifts or early morning premiums. Based on three to fifteen hours per week, your weekly earnings would range from AUD 90 to AUD 640, and monthly earnings from approximately AUD 360 to AUD 2,560.
