Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform daily landscape maintenance tasks including watering plants, weeding flowerbeds, pruning shrubs and trees, and mowing grass turfs to keep all areas neat and healthy
  2. Apply fertilisers, pesticides, and other chemicals as directed to promote plant growth and control pests and diseases, following all safety instructions
  3. Clear and dispose of horticultural waste such as fallen leaves, trimmed branches, and cut grass, keeping work sites clean and tidy
  4. Operate and maintain landscape equipment including grass cutters, brush cutters, blowers, hedge trimmers, and pruning saws, reporting any faults to the supervisor
  5. Assist with planting of trees, shrubs, and ground cover, including preparing soil, digging holes, and ensuring proper spacing and depth
  6. Monitor irrigation systems and report any leaks or malfunctions, and help with manual watering using hoses or watering cans when needed
  7. Follow all workplace safety and health procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety boots, and eye protection

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. You need at least one year of verifiable work experience in landscaping, gardening, grounds maintenance, or a related field. Physical fitness is essential for bending, kneeling, lifting up to fifteen kilograms, and working outdoors in hot and humid conditions. A valid driver’s licence is an advantage but not mandatory. Basic English communication skills are needed to follow instructions and work as part of a team. A willingness to work on weekends or public holidays when required is expected.
